The Gomers finished Season 1 of TRUE BLOOD tonight. All you really need to know about TRUE BLOOD is:

1. It's about vampires in modern redneck Louisiana.

2. A Google image search for the terms [ "true blood" nude ] results in about 119,000 hits.

You probably don't have to be a vampire fan (I'm not, particularly) to enjoy TRUE BLOOD. The dreadful earnestness of Anne Rice and her ilk is nowhere to be found, replaced with a snappy comic-book pace, black humor, and lots of skin. LOTS of skin. (What matters most is the lack of earnestness, however. Damn, those Anne Rice books were so serious.)
