Goodbye, Forrest J. Ackerman

I am saddened at the news of the passing of Forry late last night. Its a great loss for the horror/fantasy world; Forry was so multi-talented and a truly good man. I regret not having taken the time to drive down to L.A. and meet him in person...

Forrest J. Ackerman was an icon, and will definitely be missed. My condolences to fans, friends, and family wherever you are.

Yeah, I didn't read extensively before posting; I just wanted to express my feeling on the matter. I'll try and be more aware in the future.

No Problem Josh. I myself also really admired 4E. I always remembered reading about him in FAMOUS MONSTERS as well as his extensive ACKERMUSEUM. I really wanted to see him and his collection. In October of 1995, He was a guest at the SCAREGROUNDS in LATHROP. He had his LIFEMASKS of the Famous Monster Actors. Finally, I took a trip with a friend to LOS ANGELES/ANAHEIM area after Christmas Day. Not only did I see my idol in the flesh at the Famous ACKERMUSEUM, I went to the KEN CRANES (then) ALL LASERDISC STORE and the TOWER STORES on SUNSET BLVD. (Plus of course DISNEYLAND and UNIVERSAL STUDIOS).A very memorable day even though, The Flu Bug got to me on the very last day of my vacation.
